Temple of Literature tickets and prices
A day ticket to the Temple of Literature costs 70,000 VND for adults and is sold at the counter at the entrance. Children under 16 enter free. The ticket covers all five courtyards; there are no timed slots, so you can simply turn up between 08:00 and 17:00.
Two things cost extra: a guided tour, which includes the entry ticket, and the evening programme on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, which has its own ticket.

The reduced price needs Vietnamese documents (a student card from a school in Vietnam, or the citizen ID card for over-60s), so most foreign adults pay the standard price.

About 1 hour inside the temple with an English-speaking guide, starting at 09:00 or 14:30 at the gate on Quoc Tu Giam Street. The entry ticket is included. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before.

Evening programme
"The Essence of Education" runs on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 18:00 to 22:00: the lit courtyards, a 3D-mapping show, calligraphy with a scholar and woodblock printing. Adults are visitors taller than 130 cm; under 100 cm is free.

Where to buy
Buy the day ticket at the counter at the entrance on Quoc Tu Giam Street; bring some cash in dong. The official website also sells tickets online, but for now it takes payment only from Vietnamese banking and e-wallet apps.

- How much is the Temple of Literature entrance fee?
- 70,000 VND for adults. Children under 16 enter free. The 35,000 VND reduced ticket needs Vietnamese student or ID cards, so most foreign visitors pay the full price.
- Do I need to book in advance?
- Not for the day ticket: there are no time slots and it is sold at the counter. Book ahead only for the guided tour, which starts at fixed times, and for the evening programme.
- Is the entry ticket included in the guided tour?
- Yes. The 165,000 VND small-group price covers the ticket and the guide, so the guide adds about 95,000 VND per adult. Children enter the temple free anyway, so their 89,400 VND is for the guide. Book the tour

- Yes, audio guides are offered at the temple, along with guides for hire on site. Ask at the information desk by the entrance.
- Does the day ticket cover the evening show?
- No. The evening programme on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday has its own ticket, from 299,000 VND for adults.
